The New Mentality
Vibe & Thrive was an event hosted by "The New Mentality"
a mental health that hosted a community BBQ event that brought people together to celebrate mental health in the most vibrant light weight way.
The event consisted of good food, good energy, and real people showing up for each other.
New Mentality needed sticker and tote bag designs for The Vibe & Thrive event merch that people would actually want to carry around, wear, and keep long after the day was done.
over 250+ people experienced the brand at the event wearing it, carrying it, living in it.

The original design was heading somewhere. But it was doing what most event merch does it was describing the event. Telling you what it was about. The result felt generic, obvious, expected.
The real question wasn't what is this event.
It was what does this event feel like?
The Problem

A "Beauty and a Beat" music video recap capturing the event's vibrancy and aliveness, summer energy at its highest.
The goal: make mental health feel fun, not clinical, or something to shy away from.
The tote bags being worn live and in motion.
The event in real sound and vibration.

We aimed to make designs that would make people put on that tote bag and feel it feel alive, feel seen, feel like their mind is something beautiful worth showing off.

The designs stopped announcing the event and started embodying it
Shifted the design language toward vibrancy and aliveness the idea that mental health isn't dark or heavy, it's colourful, bold, and full of life
Reframed the entire creative direction around feeling over information Vibe & Thrive isn't a concept to explain, it's an experience to capture
The merch was worn proudly throughout the event with candid moments, genuine energy, and designs living in the wild exactly the way they were meant to.
